The TopGolf game itself is quite simple. Think of it almost like bowling or darts – but for golf! Just hit one of our quality golf balls – that just happens to contain a microchip imbedded into it that has assigned that particular ball to you – out into any one of the 11 recessed target greens in the driving range from 25 to 250 yards or more in distance, and you will receive immediate personalized feedback sent to the electronic monitor screen in your golf suite. The monitor screen will visually show you exactly how far your ball was hit, and how close it came to the flagstick. These two components are then utilized to award a point value for that ball.

And now for the really fun part! The technology allows you to compete with either just yourself or with up to four other players in your golf suite, utilizing handicaps that are calculated for each player after only three games are played to ensure fair point scoring.

The University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation (UCCRF) -  cancerboard.bsd.uchicago.edu- is a private, not-for-profit organization that seeks funds to underwrite basic and clinical research programs on the causes, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cancer at the University of Chicago Cancer Research Center. It was founded by philanthropist Maurice Goldblatt and since its creation has raised almost $70 million dollars for cancer research.

As the UCCRF President Ruth Ann McGuinnis explained, the Foundation’s members “are investors in innovation. We provide the Center with funding that has a special value because it supports the preliminary research required to obtain financing from other sources. In a sense, we raise the venture capital that gives scientists and clinicians the freedom to boldly pursue their most promising insights. By leveraging our contributions, the Center is able to create pioneering therapies and bring their enormous benefits to patients and communities.” We see the impacts of contributions to the Foundation at work throughout the University.

The combined power of these donations – large and small – has enabled the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment, enhanced hospital and laboratory facilities, funded fellowships for young scientists, and generated innovative research by many of our most distinguished researchers. These scientists rely on this essential support because it provides them with the freedom necessary to pursue their most visionary investigations and explore new frontiers in cancer research. The Board of Trustees is the Foundation’s governing body.
